Universalmindlattice 10 Posted April 1, 2011 Hello all, I am very much new to Arma 2 and Operation Arrowhead so I will straight away apologize for my "noobness". I recently purchased the combined operations edition and yesterday updated both of them with the newest patches. After doing so I couldnt help but notice that it added new character costumes and weapons in the Operation Arrowhead armory (which I am playing mostly to get a hang of the game). Along with these additions came my problem; some costume textures are blurry in both 1st and 3rd person views. Note that all other textures are completely fine..weapon, terrain etc.., it's just the uniform my character is wearing that is blurry. Another note is that it is not all the costumes, just some that have this problem(maybe its the new costumes??) Now I have been reading a great deal on these forums but nobody seems to have this particular porblem. I have tried everything people have suggested when it comes to fixing blurred textures, disabling post processing, increasing resolution, but nothing works. Any suggestions and information would be very much appreciated as this is very annoying. Here are some of my pc specs if that helps at all: AMD Phenom II X6 1090t 3.2ghz black edition Radeon HD 6970 8gb gskill ripjaws at 1600mhz P.S. This only started happening after I installed patch 1.59 for OA.
Beagle 674 Posted April 1, 2011 You're probably refering to BAF and PMC units. Until you buy the full DLCs all of the units will show up in "light" version with low res textures ans low sound quality.
purepassion 22 Posted April 2, 2011 yup! like Beagle said it, thats because you have only the "light" version
[frl]myke 14 Posted April 2, 2011 Some Background info about what beagle and PurePassion said: With the DLC's British Armed Forces (BAF) and Private Military Contractor (PMC), BIS introduced free light versions included in the corresponding patches. The idea was to no clutter the online experience so people that have bought one or both of these DLC's can still play with people who didn't bought the DLC's. So you have all relevant units and islands but in a low quality but you are able to play with people that own the DLC's. It's now up to you to decide for yourself if you can live with or want to buy the DLC's to get the full quality.
Dwarden 1103 Posted April 2, 2011 Lite version of each DLC is available as part of the main game to preserve MP compatibility and act as sort of demo of what You can get in the DLC Lite has lower visual fidelity of textures, models and lower quality of sounds and is w/o the SinglePlayer campaign and missions ... (in case of PMC there is just SP intro part)
