What is this zip drive you speak of...?

j/k

Nah ive never used one and probably never will. For one thing once they deceide on a standard for DVD burners that will eventually someday take over CD-RWs drives. Or at least in my opinion.

IOmega 250MB ZIP drives are more expensive than a high quality 16x CDRW.

And ZIP disks are just extremely expensive. (Like $30/ea or something?)

CDRs are usually like 50 cents each. A higher quality CDR could be as much as like 80 cents each. (Canadian $wink.gif

You'll get like $10 for your ZIP drive. And you'll probably have to throw in a few disks too... That's if anyone thinks it's worth $10.

IOmega tried to save itself by starting to sell CDRWs.

But all they did was take old AOpen CDRW drives and put "IOmega" on the box. I'm serious.

Placebo's avatar is good.

It's a constant reminder to not post nude photo's of Shakira or Catherine Bell.

I got this old game, Twilight 2000, that's on 5.25inch floppy, and I'd like to play it again but can't. Actually, I just installed a new 3.5inch disk drive since my old one was over 7 years old and not working anymore, and the old one had a sticker price one it, it was $55 back in 1995! Would that be true? In 1995 a 3.5 inch disk drive being $55 (canadian)?

Speaking of really old floppy disks, does anyone remeber the old computers that had green screens? I sure do. I used to play games on my dads old one. GOD! I dont know how many times i wanted to kick that things ass. The games were sooooooooo hard. Well, considering that i was 4-5.

One really old drive that is still used is the "DAT drive".

I think all removable storage devices are considered a 'DAT drive', but there was this one that used a cartridge like a music cassette. But a lot thicker.

NASA and the Russians still use those old cartridges.

I used to have one in my first computer. It must have been at least 11 years ago.

I'm using 250MB Zip for back-uping.

I'm back-uping valuable data on ZIP,CD-R,back-up HDD.

It's much cheaper then loss of data.
