How do you set up an ACE auto config file and URL? How does the 7z file get updated? Manually?

I'd like to have one for our server, but can't find any info on setting it up.

Thanks ACE-Team :)

sorry for silly question but I´ve little problem:

The download-archiv @CBA v0.7.4.151 have not the folder, as you can find in the readme for the games a2, co and oa

What do I need?

===============

* You should always install the @CBA mod folder by copying it to your ArmA II installation

folder.

* If you have a "merged", Combined Operations installation with both the old ArmA II

content and the new Arrowhead expansion, you're done - you only need the @CBA mod folder.

* If you have a standalone Operation Arrowhead installation, you need both the @CBA

and the @CBA_OA folders loaded.

* If you only have the older ArmA II installed, you need both the @CBA and the

@CBA_A2 folders loaded.

Example startup parameters

==========================

For Combined Operations (ArmA II and Arrowhead installed together):

-mod=@CBA

For a standalone Operation Arrowhead:

-mod=@CBA;@CBA_OA

For ArmA II only (people without Arrowhead):

-mod=@CBA;@CBA_A2

what do we need for a2 and co and oa ? :confused:

greetz miller :)

little bit of brightness at the start is before the ACE NV system has kicked in; the BIS system is rather unrealistic, as it automatically sets the exposure (whereas an NVG unit would have a manually 'fixed' exposure that has to be adjusted by the user)

In addition to this, the BIS NVGs are particularly bright, and without any of the disadvantages that you get on real world units when increasing the exposure (blurring, extra noise or ghosting) are quite unrealistic; the more limited range in the ACE system is the solution

Just wait till I get around to implementing my "make NV suck even more" program... :p

Noise in the screen, very limited view distance, etc. :D

Could someone provide a summary of the new features added, typically with ACE releases its quite hard to see what has been implemented from the previous main release.

I know there are changelogs but they tend to focus on bug fixes, would be nice to have a document that gives more of an overview of functionality.

Thanks

Can't wait! :thumbsup;

NVGs have been needing a realism overhaul for a while.

Haha yea, I've been noticing I get a certain pleasure by taking systems which are overly easy to use and giving them a nice boot in the teeth of realism... Gunna merge in the Dragon code, should be out on Friday... Hopefully I can sneek in some NVG stuff by then too maybe... :p

If you have OA standalone you install @CBA + @CBA_OA.

If you have A2 standalone (not important for ACE for OA, because we don't support A2 standalone) you install @CBA + @CBA_A2.

If you have Combined Ops, you install only @CBA.

In short. You always use the @CBA mod folder.

If you don't have Combined Ops (merged or seperate installed OA+A2), you need 2 modfolders instead of 1.

@CBA and @CBA_OA are delivered seperately with ACE Stable releases: http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/ACE_1.9#Downloads

On top of that, the Six Updater takes care of it all, incl launching the game with the correct mod-set.

Ongoing development releases are recommended over the stable releases, besides the Stable release is always a previously released ongoing development release, 1.9 stable == 1.9 RC3.

The Highlights section does; http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/ACE_1_9

Then there's the roadmap and the changelogs. If changelogs mostly contain bug fixes, then that is what has been mostly in that version.

rocko

Does this mean flashlights are added ready for the next release or added as a task?.

ACE 1.9 Stable == 1.9 RC3 which has been released last Friday on SU, so if you already have it then of course there's nothing to update...

This is the same every release. A Stable release is always an earlier release - released on Six Updater. Either on Friday as an update, or on other days as a hotfix.

http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/Stable

Click the Info button at a mod to see the actual mod information, in case of ACE you would see for yourself, last update 5 days ago:

http://updater.dev-heaven.net/mods/show/a546d346-a754-11de-b50f-0021855d3b6d

Also, you can always force update / check / repair your modfolders.

Does this mean flashlights are added ready for the next release or added as a task?.

Revisions are code committed to our repository, so ready for next release.

Login on dev-heaven and you can even see the code involved with the revision.
