"El Capitan" SP & MP mission.

I'd like to announce the release of my very first mission "El Capitan".

This mission is designed to be fun and challenging. In MP version instead of having a mobile respawn, I have placed a number of

vehicles at BASE that the player will need to drive back to the remaining team or wait for all to reassemble then

make the drive. This is purely for suspense as the player "left behind" will be trying to stay alive till the team returns.

I have not used any revive scripts just to make it more challenging, and GL4 has a "first aid" component already so if can learn to take cover before its to late you'll be fine.

It is also in no way trying to resemble USMC strategies for rescue missions.

I would like to thank SNKMAN for the original concept, and for GL4.

MISSION DESCRIPTION:

This is a SP and a 5 Player Co-op mission for ArmA2: Combined Operations. It is a challenging mission where your USMC Force

Recon team has to retrieve a fellow Marine. Stealth is the key for the first task, but from then your anonymity

will be somewhat diminished (you'll see). You will then be required to move North to the Presedente's Palace in

Maruko where the Marine is being held. Once retrieved you will need to escort him back to camp. If he dies,

its mission over. This is a long and quite hard mission so time needs to be taken. Enemy AI will show you no quarter

due to the GL4 mod.

There are no cut scenes or voice acting, like I said, first mission designed to

be simple but fun.

ANN TRANSCRIPT

To our top story tonight. A USMC Officer has attempted a peace treaty between the Armadas Revolucionarias de Lingor

(ARL)and the Government Army of Lingor (GAL) after the ARL's violent push North. During the advance the ARL

managed to secure the entire NE section of the Island. This included the town of Maruko where the Presidents

Palace is situated. The President of Lingor is currently MIA after not appearing at the talks scheduled to take

place at the Palace.

A USMC spokesperson has stated that the ARL became hostile when the President failed to arrive at the talks.

Assuming it was a trap the ARL seized the unarmed USMC Officer as a hostage. The ARL have since become aware of

the actual situation and have decided to hold the Officer for bargaining power, as they continue they're attempt at

a hostile takeover of Lingor Island. The USMC have also stated that due to the ARL's unwillingness to work

with Peacekeepers in the reigon, they are considering a USMC presence on the island itself.

Rumor also has it that the ARL are in the process of killing any Maruko locals refusing to join them in their cause.

Only a hand full have managed to escape to safety in the south, the rest are said to be either in hiding, or fighting

alongside the ARL. What impact this with will have on the Lingorian Presidents leadership should he return is yet

to be seen.

This mission has been tested thoroughly so there shouldn't be any bugs.

CONTENT/FEATURES/CHANGES/BUGS :

-"Weapon load out" saves for a quick return to action

- The briefing is very simple (in that there is no interaction, its my first full mission, still learning)

- Thus there are no objective markers. You will need to use the Way Points provided. (more realistic lol)

- Sometimes after a save in SP your units will get "the shakes" (possibly GL4), its not a big deal as they

still function properly. They just look like they are loosing it a little, in that they shake their head a lot.

nice mission i enjoyed it a lot . i would like it with a few more enemies inside and over buildings anyway thx. now i wanna more missions from you ;)

Good mission! Nice to be on a different Island for a change and for me, long time no see GL4.

Seems like a 2nd mission in a campaine. You need to have a first mission that shows how and why the Capt was caught in the first place.............

Thanks mate. GL4 actually makes the enemy search buildings and such. Due to this, it makes it hard sometimes to script AI as the GL4 mod is telling them to search, defend, reinforce etc...

But I hear you, its a good city for sneak attacks from on high.

Yeh, I had thought about it but decided against it, the AAN transcript fills you in on how he got there. I was also going to do a cut scene, but I'm still really bad at them.
