Hi Topas,

Awesome work thus far, I am sure I share anticipation with all others who follow this thread.

I was wondering if you can post a Master List of all vehicles, aircraft and weapons you would “like†to add, as well as what’s already done, WIP, or being considered? The various areas I looked at have a number of lists; however, they seem incomplete and sometimes contradictory.

Once that’s up, I believe you’ll get more volunteers to help with the big stuff or even just with research.

Many thanks for the hard work to you and your team

Depends on what you consider WIP. There's still some tweaking to do on each of those (may it be normalmapping, some sounds, selections or shadows), but it's largely functioning and for sure playable at this moment.

I'm updating the list; but it's straight from my memory, so some things are missing for sure (I have not included any grenades for example). As it's a WIP I'm not writing about any fortifications too (bunkers, trenches, barricades etc.). We do have some of it, at least 4 models of bunkers that need some serious work (shadows, scaling), guardhouses and fortified watchposts.

The WIP list is (thanks to our contributors) actually longer (at places) than the actual 'finished/close to finish' list. We do have a large amount of stuff waiting to be ported, UVmapped, configged (like the German or Soviet planes donated by FW200, some German transportation by Bubus).

About plans; don't ask me... It'll take most of the topic space if I was to write what I'd ideally have... Keeping it realistic - for sure we need to strengthen the armored lines of the Poles. 7TP twin-turret, Vickers 6ton MkE (single/twin-turret), Renault R35, TK-3. Germans are still missing basic transport means (Henschel G33 trucks, Einheitsdiesel, staff cars). These all are a priority, but we seem to have failed at executing it yet. There's few of us and too little time.

PS: I just wanted to point to my signature; the recruitment poster is still there and stands ;)

{although due to lack of time the forums it points out to are rather dead and were not updated for a loooong time}

@KKastl8@gmail.com in response to numerous private and visitor messages...

Soviet paratroopers, German Fallschirmjaegers and Marines were not discussed yet. We were only doing a rather modest research on the 3. Marine-Stoßtrupp-Kompanie, when we considered doing a Westerplatte scenario some months ago.

I have posted a list of weapons and vehicles (yet to be expanded), and be sure I will post a similar one regarding infantry. In the end it's up to Jaksa to decide wheteher there'll be:

soviet army officers/soviet air force officers/polish army officers with officer hats/polish navy officers/polish air force officers/german navy officers/german air force officers/waffen ss soldiers/waffen ss officers/german military police soldiers/german military police officers/soviet nkvd soldiers/soviet nkvd officers/polish military police/polish military security/waffen ss police soldiers/waffen ss police officers/polish air force soldiers/german air force soldiers/soviet air force soldiers/german marines/polish marines and german sailors

or not, as he's the modeling titan of the mod and he'll be the one to spend his time on this. Please be patient, once we're there we're publish what we have. Until we do please do not bombard us with questions. Thank in you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Hi Topas,

The "Completed" list is a great start. So now what your loyal and adoring public needs to know what kind of help your team requires; specifically on which WIP projects.

what kind of help your team requires

Lots of free time would be good... If we had it, we'd be having far more stuff in a more advanced state. ;)

But seriously, I'm thinking: a helping hand in the texturing department would be needed for sure; especially someone who's familiar with nohq's, smdi's and everything that makes the addons look so eye-candish (with vehicles it's somewhat easier for me as with characters, but still, it's something I have still troubles with)*

*no time to learn

When we're close enough I'm pretty sure we'd need some sound specialists (someone as talented as Hamis perhaps, who'd assign original engine sounds and sounds effects to everything)

I briefly spoke with Jaksa today, he's still animating the infantry, so I'll guess we'll not be thinking of anything of the above yet.

don't think that track wheels will really excite people versus a finished model

Well, I on the other hand like to think that there are some of you out there who like to have a look at the creation process, not just the finished addon, which appears out of thin air ;)

So folks, Abs' progress on the 7TP ;) Applaude, 'cause he really gave his best on those rollers and wheels (probably having cursed a 1000 times at the original designers at Vickers)

Yes to the creation process, I for one love to see the journey from start to finish, it creates a sort of character for both the artist and they're work. it's also a great way to learn some things and help others. (lulz flashbacks of grammar class..find the sentence that does not belong.)

That has got to be one of the most detailed track assemblies for a tank I've seen..can't wait to see it textured! I just hope that the roadwheel texturing doesn't render the seperation of the wheels as a moot detail.

I've definitely been cursing the people who designed these road-wheels. Such unnecessary complexity!

I'm sure that the texturing will compliment the model superbly. Even I'm excited to see the final result! The 7TP model is essentially the armour pièce de résistance of the mod as it's the main battle tank used during the Invasion of Poland, whereas the 10TP and the 4TP were only prototypes. (Not to say that they are of lower quality, of course!)

Thankfully there aren't many more details to add to the rest of the body so I feel comfortable with the detail on the wheels from a polycount perspective.

The invaders were quite fond of the 7TP too. Those vehicles which were captured or found abandoned in a fairly good condition were quickly adopted and used by the Germans.

At first marked only with white crosses, then gradualy repainted in panzergrau and rearmed (only the MG, as the Bofors cannon was nearly perfect).

German designation was PzKpfw 7TP / 731(p), they were used in police units in central Europe, in the Invasion of France 1940, Italy and France 1944, and on the eastern front. Additionally, 21 of these were used to form a platoon within Erwinn Rommel's Führer-Begleit-Bataillon.

I'd surely like to include the German version as well ;)

Thanks for the interest Kadafi, but Maybach is right.

Even with occasional help and boosts we're getting from some generous members of the community* - it's our feel that we're still moving uphill. Don't worry, maybe a little slower than we used to earlier, but firmly ;)

*There may be some good news or two in that area soon

Apart from being a high-quality mod, September 1939 features a unique setting. Polish campaign was poorly covered in other video games, mostly as a training scenario in some geek wargames. This conflict seemed to me unimportant, I thought that the Poles didn't know how to fight and were overrun by the almighty Wehrmacht. When I saw first screenshots of September 1939, I became interested in what they were depicting. Now I want to thank the developer team for creating this interest in me and wish a good luck in their job.

This was the Western world's attitude for the longest time further propagated by the Cold War era and lack of credible information coming out of the East. Whereas the reality is that the German losses were comparable if not surpassed in some cases in the Fall Weiss campaign then that of the invasion of France. Furthermore the intensity of the fighting in Poland was much more gruelling as the battles were often characteristic of mass confusion due to German army inexperience/new equipment and many Polish night time counter-attacks forced by the German air superiority.

many Polish night time counter-attacks forced by the German air superiority.

One of the most famous being this one:

On the night of September 15/16, 1939, the 49th Hutsul Rifle Regiment and the 98th Infantry Regiment (38. Reserve ID) attacked parts of the SS-Standarte Germania, which was stationed in the villages of Przelbice, Muzylowice, Mogiła and Czarnokonce. The SS had been ordered to close the roads leading east and prevent Polish troops from reaching Lwów. It has been established that in Muzylowice, where the main Polish attack took place, the following German units were stationed: the regiment's HQ, 3rd. battalion and support subunits. To catch the SS by surprise, Colonel Hodala and Colonel Bronisław Prugar-Ketling (commandant of the 11th Carpathian Infantry Division) ordered their soldiers to unload their rifles and use bayonets.

After 30-minutes of fierce hand-to-hand combat, which started at 9 pm, the Germans suffered heavy casualties, with at least 205 KIA and WIA. The commander of the III battalion SS-Obersturmbannführer Willy Koeppen and the regiment's aide-de-camp SS-Obersturmführer Schomburg were among those killed by bayonets. The regiment's HQ fled to Jaworów and German soldiers scattered in panic across the area. Several prisoners were taken and the SS lost almost all of its heavy equipment, including 16 75mm artillery pieces, 8 105mm artillery pieces, 15 AT guns, the majority of mortars, plus all vehicles (20 armored vehicles and transporters, 70 motorcycles, 50 trucks and cars). The battleground was witnessed on September 16 by General Kazimierz Sosnkowski, who later described these events in his book "Cieniom września". The Colonel Prugar-Ketling also described the night attack in his memoirs "Aby dochować wierności". He wrote that the 30-minute attack was carried out in complete silence and the panic was visible the next day on the terrified faces of the dead German soldiers. Prugar-Ketling, who died in 1948, was shocked to see how much equipment was captured.

Photos of the aftermath here.
