seamus 10 Posted February 10, 2011 (edited) Why does arma 2 only use 2 gig of ram?I have six gig of ram,is there anyway to get arma to use more than 2 gig of ram? Also does arma make use of all core,s on i7 cpu,s? Edited February 10, 2011 by seamus
helo 10 Posted February 10, 2011 Arma 2 engine is based on 32bit environment, so there are technical limitations for the engine like the max. amount of memory (2 GB) and many other things. You have to wait for a future engien which supports a 64 bit environment, which will be more efficent concerning the usage of the aforementioned hardware. no use for a name 0 Posted February 12, 2011 The game will only use however much it needs...it's not going to load 6GB worth of data if it only needs 2GB at that time; doing so just adds to memory leaks/errors. What you can do is make a RAMDrive, and load just key file(s) on it so it won't have to stream from your HDD as much. There's at least two (if not more) topics on how to do this in the General section of the forums if you're interested
