Multiplayer (MP), Arma 2 + OA, no addons required, map: Takistan.

Mission Description

You are part of a family clan which owns a drug field near your hometown.

UN-Troops have confiscated your drugfield and arrested your family for further investigations.

From now on its time to strike back. Escape from prison and get some weapons to kick some asses!

Map is huge and it will be a long fight. For more informations check out the readme file.

Features

  • Max. players 15 also playable with a minimum of 4

  • Playtime between 3 to 5 hours dependes on how many players are playing and your skill. Total amount of enemies 500+

  • Map tested on ACP-Server with third person, no crosshair and no super-ai

  • Teamplay is mandatory! Give rambos no chance to ruin the map

  • Use Teamspeak for better Teamplay or other Voicechat! No plan results in a loss

  • Map uses norrin revive script, 7 lives, no spawn points and 10 minutes revive time. Each player receives a bonus life after two revives

  • JIP! Each player who joins afterwards will spawn in the prison camp! To teleport to the teamleader use the Flag which is located in the center of the prison camp. Teleportation to the teamleader will equip you with a rifle + 3 mags

  • Viewdistance: no viewdistanse is predefined (Standard settings)

  • Performance: You dont need a high end pc for this map

... sometimes its not really smooth but playable. For preformance boost use viewdistance changer and lower the settings.

Very good mission, no bugs or downsides.

is there anyway to skip the intro?

It could be possible, but there are some scripts/triggers synchronized during the intro which would cause alot trouble if there was a skip intro function.

Besides any player who joins after the intro was played, dont see it anymore.

And a good map must have an intro ;).

Played this a few times now and its a very good mission, its very hard and all missions should be this hard.

Few of us having serious performance issues tho i would suggest using 2 of Woofy.au scripts to help performance. His clearcorpses script and unit cache due to the nature of this mission having enemies spawn at 1000m actually works.

Thanks and yes the map is really hard.

Most of the Units are standing still in the beginning, just a few units spawn via script and some do have an eventhandler in their init if they die to be removed.

If you got performance issues make sure you use an viewdistance changer to lower the viewdistance and the grass (Please read the inculded readme file more carefully).

It shouldnt really matter, the mission should run well regardless. We normally get 70-90 fps on takistan with any mission but with this we are down to 20. our PCs a lot better than that one. Running on a dedicated server.

This mission should be a template like Evolution/Takistan Force/Wheres Waldo/Domination. Its quite brilliant and would work on any offical or IceBreakr map. I would suggest porting it to Lingor.

ATI 3870 512mb

2 GB RAM

Win XP

In game settings:

No shadow details.

Low anti-aliasing and anisotropische filter too.

Texture and objects details sets to normal.

Landdetails to very low.

At startpos with viewdistance 500m (enough for town fight).

It runs not very good but the playable was OK.

Outsides town with 1200m ~ 1600m no probs.

At the Moschee reduce to 800~600m.

Without this addontool (readme) where the map not playable with this hardware.

Performance improves after the mosque, some using Viewdistance changers.

This is really really hard, we have failed many many times trying to do this. Brilliant mission well done :)
