CorsairFlyer 10 Posted January 28, 2011 Hello. :) By playing I got the idea to transform OPFOR group into REDFOR. Indeed it appears more logic to have a "BLUFOR" and "REDFOR" group. Also the actual political context doesn't explain the reason that Russian are opposed to Americains.. (Besides I think that have a Russia OP/REDFOR and BLUFOR could be a good idea). What do you think of it ? :)
Pyronick 21 Posted January 28, 2011 OPFOR is the NATO agreed standard (STANAG) callsign for "Opposing Forces". Or any belligerent/hostile force. ArmA 2 makes maximum use of STANAG for realism purposes aswell as preventing misunderstanding. The proper term for Russian Armed Forces, hostile or friendly would likely be RUSFOR. max power 20 Posted January 28, 2011 Hmmm... It's been a while since I played Harvest Red, but Regarding the context for Russia to be OPFOR. Enters the conflict after the Chedaki, posing as NAPA insurgents, bomb Moscow. They roll in in a big way, and I think their aim is to secure the boarder and to ensure the safety of the ethnic Russians in the north. They are pissed off and hostile, but they are are not enemies, strictly speaking. You are told to avoid them.
