Do you plan to change sound on M4A1(ACEX_SM) ?

It sounds like shooting from a plastic toy for kids to be honest.

(I don´t want to offend anyone, its just suggestion)

No. It sounds good with proper settings and a good headphone.

@ACE was hotfixed to build 469 to address Wind Deflection problem.

Sweet. I was wondering if it was just me. I'm not that bad of a shot. ;)

Mmmm I have a full set of surround speakers, a top of the line sound board, and I think the M4 sounds like a bb-gun.

I also happen to own a real M4, and the one I shoot for real has one hell of a report.

I think the most accurate portrayal of its sound that Ive heard was in the HiFi sound mod.

I seriously dont think it has anything to do with good headphones.

Best Regards, and thanks as always ACE team !

Actually I got G35 headphones now and the M4A1 still doesn't sound like an M4A1 :(

Just asking:

Will this rattling gear noise be tuned down or is there a specific "rattling gear" soundfile which can be (re)moved from ACE_SM folder?

Or is it possible to lower/stop these gear sounds via player action/menu?

Some missions do need a more silent start + execution. ;)

I can play the game fine now.

Took me a while but with the help of some good mates we got it running.

Running it through Addon-sync and it works like a charm.

Problem was that i hadn't installed BattlEye on OA.

So i got constantly kicked out of the server.

Happy camper now :p

I cant make the M4 sound like a real M4. It would make most of the sound hardwares to explode. ;)

Im using Arma with Effects at 100% in Audio settings, have a mid-level (Logitech Clear Chat Premium) headphone and they are loud, bassy and sharp at the same time. I really like them. Sorry, but I cant please everyone. ACE SM currently good for some people and bad for some others.

I don't know man, other sounds seem fine, but just about anyone I know have complained about the M4 sound specifically. Sounds too much like a "plastic slap" or something. Very high-pitched considering it's a rifle.

Oh, and ACE already makes the ears explode if you have no earplugs (though for some reason only MGs really cause this effect), just make it sound like an M4 would sound to a guy wearing earplugs ;)

After placing, you must look at it and open the interaction menu, select "safety off". Then you can use the scroll action menu to detonate.

Clippi seems to have disappeared from the @ACE folder. Do I have to download it now?

1.6 seems to be the latest version to download.

Clippi seems to have disappeared from the @ACE folder.

cannot confirm, it's still in its usual place (in main @ace-folder) ... just updated to v469 (somethin' was wrong at 1st with updating from v468 -> v468 remained, so I deleted "v468"-@ace-folder completely, afterwards six updater made a fresh v469-install from buttom up).

Everything's ok, on my side.

hey,

I was wondering, is protective gear enabled by default in some of the unit classes? Basically I just want to know if the Pilot, AT units in the US Army faction already have crewprotection enabled by default or if I have to enable it by doing [_unit, true] call ACE_fnc_setCrewProtection?

I like the new footstep sounds and the satchel

My first impresion was, oh nice new sound, but now I feel it a little bit annoying, now im not sure if I am a soldier or an stormtrooper losing his armor in pieces

Well, I definitely thing the footsteps are an improvement.

Vanilla the footsteps sound a lot like you have a squire running with you knocking coconuts together.

ACE it sounds like you have metal pieces knocking into each other, maybe like two loose magazines hitting each other. Usually soldiers secure their kit and make sure there isn't anything that's going to make a noise like that.

Yeah, clippi.exe was deleted in the last "delete extra files" on YAS from UGAF, so I'm guessing it's gone on SIX too.
