Sounds AWESOME! that's the one thing ace sonic crack didnt have, the "plop" afterwards. Looking forward to it mate, good luck.

I know by now this is probably getting annoying but can you please verify if BAF sounds are/ are to be worked on as of now (I know answer could very well change in the future.)? Thanks in advanced.

of course, but it need ab bit time to cover over 4000 sounds :D after finishing the "corepack" (wich include opfor and blufor weapons, enviroment sounds, soniccracks and maybe movement sounds) well do baf weapons. --> DLC BAF, thats the plan atm ;)

Ah come on be a bit more original, let the other mods cover 4000 sounds, get "Specialist" and do the DLC's small updates and save total conversions of months of work after :)

Hi. Something about your soundmod :) Look at

. Not blast sound. Background shooting. In your mod, when player stay far from combat (200-300 meters), he don't hear shooting sounds. Just island ambient. But in this video, we good hear far shooting.

DAP The sound mod dont have the distant sounds and sonic cracks yet, its still being worked on.

for now just put in the sonic cracks pbos from your sound mod, eg acex_sm has acex_sm_c_sound_wep_crack.pbo and acex_sm_s_sound_wep_crack.pbo and their own respective bisigns. Funny hearing vanilla ak74s with ace cracks and the distant popping noises though:p

p.s. if im a n00b at mods and all, so this is most likely going to sound stupid, but if i copy paste the mk16sd pbo, open it and change all the mk16sd class names to the m4(a1)sd classnames will it change my m4 sounds to the scar light sd sounds?

oh my friend, if it would be so easy, may i would do a soundmod in 1 day ;) no uve to config the classnames and...ouch...:)its already fixed. be patient, if u want i can upload the fixed pbo tomorrow ( or in few hours). ive fixed some errors, missing sounds, reworked all configs (thx kju!) and...man...next step is, ill play arma again and get myself a short rest. i went crazy looking over all these configs and sounds...i need a short rest. pls post the errors and bugs u found (already fixed m4sd, reloadsound stinger...) maybe ill upload the next dls soon.....good night ill goto bed now

i dont think i have heard any bugs other then the ones listed beforw and most of them have been fixed. Sorry if i sounded impatient, i was just asking if it was possible for a n00b like myself to fix it while i wait:D. Great to hear it's coming along though, looking forward to it.:bounce3:

actuall the m60 is missing a reload sound/empty 'click' sound when you try to fire an empty belt. Update in your own time though, dont rush to do everything at once:P

This sounds really nice, unfortunately the download speed is awfull slow down to 1400kb/s which would take 12 hours for just 60MB. I will look for alternative mirrors with google, but hope you can offer also alternative links in this thread, thx.

edit: dont know why but the link from armaholic gives me 100%speed, even its the same...strange, still one of the link has only kb/s speed for me. Thx for the mod, will try it out !!

@ dap: the soundengine creats the distand sounds automatic. dont know how to add other distands sounds yet.

I like the plops and deeper sounds a lot but the high pitch snaps just seem to blend together and become noise.

Anyword how Konrad is going on OpFor weapons? This is coming along really well, i can see it becoming the most popular sound mod of arma2, or any game for that matter.

when blufor, opfor, Soniccracks and envirenment sounds reached a good beta status, i think ill do vehicles sounds next. but first ive to fix some little issues and help konrad todo the opfor sounds.

Guys, please, go listen to some battle footage and listen carefully. What exactly is a sound crack, what initial sound does it have, what is it's volume and what are the reflections off the ground/walls.

i have for one and i believe that these sounds are very good, although the first video was a better exaple because you didnt have to hear crappy vanilla opfor sounds, which dont have that distant 'plop' echo like the blufre ones do, only thing about the first video, i was hearing gunfire, then the crack? I hope that the gunfire before the cracks was just inaccurate fire and not the same bullets that cracked... Butyes sounds very realistic, can not wait:D good luck to Konrad on OpFor sounds, keep it up:)

Hearing the muzzle report before the crack has nothing to do with sound mods. It's an engine issue.

I have never noticed that before though, i think the ai were just missing, if not, it could be covered/fixed with an update after all the good stuff comes out:D

hey guys thx for the good feedback i half done with Opfor sound , just got not much time momentally cause i will have my 18th birthday soon.

And i have problems with the AK47 =/

loving the ak74u sound, that's the only gun i ever use as OpFor:D

BTW, what is going wrong with the AK, I am sure there are heaps of high quality vids you could refer to if you arent happy with sounds you have now, after all, if you find or make a better sound later, you can always just add it in;)
