PostalDude 10 Posted April 2, 2012 First off, I just want to point out that I have a HUGE amount of respect for the team making this mod. As someone who recently started messing around with the editing tools, I can actually begin to imagine how time consuming and tough it's got to be to create something this awesome. Second, I also want to say I've got alot of respect for everyone who's been tracking this mod's progress since it was first announced. I only discovered this back about a month ago, and since then I've been as anxious as a grunt in a landing craft to play this. (well, maybe not wondering if the stories of what the enemy does to prisoners are true kind of anxious, but a small step down hehe) On a side note, I have a slight question. For Iwo Jima (or for a mission editor's choice) will there eventually be a replication of the Marine's two sided camo uniforms/helmet covers? Just thought I'd throw that one out there, a little curious is all. Again, thank you so much for all your guy's hard work, I really can't wait to play
Galaxiesaver 10 Posted April 2, 2012 There simply isnt enough space for me to disagree with the other people complimenting ths mod...what im say is: This is AWESOME and i reayl realy cant wait for it. However, to Mr. Pederson, have you gotten my PM? and on a serious note, im literally looking at the progress of this mod every day since 2 months. I realy hope you dont release any early versions of the mod just because thecommunity starts annoying. pls take your time (which im sure you will) :D
eaglezero6205 10 Posted April 2, 2012 (edited) This looks Fantastic thus far. Are you guys using the Invasion 1944 stuff also or are all these objects brand new? I have heard you guys even did the F4U Corsair I cant wait to get a black sheep Squadron going. I hope you guys make the map big enought to fly on though the Omaha map really wasnt big enough to fly on but it was OK. You could at least get a decent dogfight In. And if may request I would to see a Functional B-24D Specifically "Strawberry B!tch" I love that plane it was one of my first models. I believe they were used int he Pacific and in Tunisia. It would be just great if we had the ability to do the Ploesti Raid. Of course that's not the Pacific but yeah the B-24 was used extensively in the Pacific escorted by Wildcats hellcats and Corsairs. Great Job Gentlemen.Where do I get in on this BETA? I love WWII stuff My Grandfather served as a medic on Omaha Beach DDAY June 6th 1944 With the 29thID. So it runs in Veins to love the Vintage Aircraft. Sadly he passed this last October so I cant ask him anything about it anymore, lived to be 87.Anyway I just want to say Great Job keep it up Hope to see a release soon. Wiki 1558 Posted April 2, 2012 any news of a campaign or SP missions to be released with this mod?
dimitri_harkov 10 Posted April 3, 2012 @Eaglezero6205: Thanks for your positive comments, and sorry for your loss. We only have three planes in-game (yet?): Zero, Hellcat, Spitfire. At least one, probably two more are in the pipeline. It also look like we are concentrating on land combat for the first release and expand the mod in the other areas later. @Wiki: Sorry, neither campaign nor SP missions have been done or even planned yet. Given our team size, I guess we need 'reinforcements' to put those in the mod. Cheers, D.
giallustio 770 Posted April 3, 2012 Given our team size, I guess we need 'reinforcements' to put those in the mod. Cheers, D. I wrote to Mr Pedersen about that but i got no answer :)
Galaxiesaver 10 Posted April 3, 2012 yeah looks realy awesome. i realy cant beleve that no one has talked about the b-29 yet. this is a plane that , in my oppinion, must be in the game (whether its sooner or later doesnt realy matter). realy realy love this plane and the b-24 and b-25 mitchell. I also hope that you make an okinawa map (you probably cant make it nearly full size due to its real life size, but atleast some large okinawa map would be awesome). i worte to mr pedersen about being a beta tester, but got no reply yet. Since i cant mod and dont have any 3d programs (oxygen 2 is too difficult and 3Ds max is too expensive) i would like to contribute the the project, a little bit, by being a beta tester :)
colosseum 34 Posted April 4, 2012 How can some of us get in on beta testing?
abs 2 Posted April 4, 2012 How can some of us get in on beta testing? By looking at even the previous page. Closed beta.Join one of our community that are helping us Beta Test. Sorry mate, but if you missed this on just one page ago, then how do you guys expect that people will trust you to catch flaws in a beta test? :( Abs
colosseum 34 Posted April 4, 2012 Well unfortunately I didn't have time today to read through all 62 pages of posts! Also I doubt an Arma clan would appreciate someone joining solely to beta test a mod with them. ;) At any rate I eagerly await the release of this mod, and as someone who has done both Slim's XIVth Army and USMC Pacific reenacting and research in my spare time, I do think I could be of some use. ;)
grub 10 Posted April 4, 2012 I wrote to Mr Pedersen about that but i got no answer :) There's only 4 or 5 in the I44 team also

Waxbutter 6 Posted April 6, 2012 Excellent work Gachopin !!
topas 1 Posted April 6, 2012 Looks completely out of proportion and unserious, like a cartoon car.... But that's exactly how it should, as the original was the just like that :D Good work! Nice to see one more WW2 softskin!
dimitri_harkov 10 Posted April 6, 2012 (edited) Now that Gachopin has posted his excellent work on the kurogane/daruma, this seems to be the right time to present a special group of Japanese community members: Classic, Monotone and Yellow have kindly provided us with Japanese voice samples that have already been put into the mod and work great. Major Kudo and Gachopin (well known from JSDF mod and other addons) have offered to support us in the modelling department. They have quite a lot of stuff in the works right now and we are looking forward to post some pics in the near future. We at HIP are especially happy that we get support by Japanese members despite language and time zone constraints. We hope this will help us to present both sides of the conflict portrayed in our mod equally. *** Also (from good olde Europe) we welcome aboard Babylonjoke, who already did some nice statics for us and is working on other stuff as well. Below you can see his big Japanese barrack (imported by Waxbutter) in action on Pedersen's map Kohima Ridge. Thanks a lot guys, we hope this will be a long and fruitful cooperation for everyone's benefit :D Cheers, Dimitri for the Hell in the Pacific team Edited April 6, 2012 by Dimitri_Harkov Babylon needs to be mentioned too, of course! dimitri_harkov 10 Posted April 10, 2012 It has come to our attention that an older version of the HIP beta has been leaked. While it's a bit sad that this happened, it pleases us that people want HIP so bad that they even resort to illegal means to get it. Should some of you get hold of that leaked copy of HIP, please keep in mind that this version is already several month old and the mod has been improved in many areas since... ... for example HIP's small arms: The British Sten SMG, recently redone by Waxbutter, in all it's beauty :): Also our mission framework has seen a lot of improvements, new features have been added to our logistics module, our static weapons got some new functionality as well and much more. Cheers, Dimitri
