Free DLC: Lingor Units for Arma 2/OA

All of this is great work. I thank you for putting your time in it. But the thing that flaws the beauty of such creations is the lack of ANY missions. There are so many cool islands and units out there and noone uses them. a shame.

One campaign is being made by Specialist, other by me. And I think there are more missions in work as we speak.

I got 3 awaiting validation at armaholic, a split down reworking of BAF Commando's

changelog v 1.5

* Split mission into 3 parts (more to follow)

* Medic only revive

* Default 5 times revives

* Included Lingor units

Part I

River Raid

Briefing

Intercepted Narco communications have revealed details of a large shipment of Lingorian blue flake pure cocaine

destined for the shores of Europe.

As part of the Royal Navys anti-narcotic task force your team of commandos is tasked with locating and destroying the shipment.

The narcotics are loaded on a fishing boat in the settlement of Pancho and are to be transported to an airstrip for distribution across Europe.

Send the boat along with its deadly cargo to the bottom of the creek."

Intel recovered from operations in Pancho has revealed the whereabouts of a Narco airfield from where Blueflake is transported to Europe.

Notorius cartel leader Valdez Migeul (aka El Matador) is staying at one of his mansions in the islands

over seeing the development of a nearby Drugs manufacturing plant.

Assault the mansion grounds and assisnate El Matador. Your team are to also close down the nearby drugs manufacturing plant.

I have more scenarios planned for this wonderful Island

And I have one question about Unisol company and thier cyborgs.

Can somebody put a screenshot of these units?

When I place them in editor, and load the game they look like ordinary civils with weapon. They should look like that?

Innocent-looking from the outside, but have you tried killing one?

Was disappointed by that too, I expected them to wear the little "head-sets" with cameraslike in the movie.:D

Maybe if you would see the correct island topic you would see that I already have v1.1 with all the bugs fixed. I've decided to add a somewhat large island to it, so that might cause a bit of the delay.

Can you add a sliver of land around 0,0,0 (including off map) :D. It would fix an Insurgency bug.

Tragically, the Mig21s jump around and jitter whenever you climb in them. It's almost as if they were bouncing on an invisible weapon proxy or something. Once they get in the air, they're okay, but on the ground, they're just plain dangerous. Has anyone else experienced this?

As far as missions go, I have mounted a BE warfare version on Lingor, but it's still in the testing stages.

What game version are you using? Where is the plane places when you enter it? Btw, I've noticed this "jumping" with *ALL* empty vehicles in 1.57 on dedicated server.

Make sure you're not using any other addons that might cause this.

Firstly, awesome units! Cheers for putting them out to the community, it always provides a good boost to everyone's enthusiasm to keep playing Arma2/CO. :D

Secondly, having had a gander at the Lingor Army units, they VERY closely resemble Afghan National Army commando units... all that would need to be switched is the faces to the Takistani ones, and the voices also... and perhaps the flag on the sleeve of the soldier model changed and the illusion would be complete. I tried having a crack at getting the units to use the beardy takistani faces and takistani voices, but my configging skills are... well I don't really have any, so i couldn't get it to work and just gave up. Anyway, obviously this is just a take it or leave it suggestion, but they could make some good ANA units. :)

This is not an ANA project. There are other authors working on that faction already, search the BIF.

But glad you like them, I hope to see more missions soon ;)

The Lingor units can't carry static weapons only disassemble them.

Where can i found group name in order to use with XfGetConfigGroup?

Like in Duala : "East","MOL_army","Infantry","inf_squad"] call XfGetConfigGroup

I can't find the right syntax with arl army.

Anyone can help me?

thos Unisols cyborgs are killers - dispatched a whole USMC rifle unit with only 2 of them - crazy units!

Anyone know if there's a mission that uses these cyborgs and/or the predators? I'd love to get my clan to download Lingor and then spring this on them. In fact I might even record our voice comms because I'm sure it'd be hilarious - the confusion, the fear, the panic.

I know you're very busy updating Isla Duala and the awesome new units that will go with it and I certainly don't want you to take precious time away from that project. But I was wondering…do you have any intentions on updating the Lingor units…particularly the Unisols.

The current Unisol units look like regular guys in t-shirts and trousers and their weapons certainly aren't very "high tech". I had kind of hoped they would turn out more like this or this (but with a jungle pattern). Maybe have them equipped with the FN F2000 might be more fitting for a supposed "cyborg" soldier.

Anyway…that was just my thoughts on the matter. Keep up the excellent work and we're all looking forward to your new Duala units.

Minor bug: For the venator PMCs, when you try to get in the Van (Bank Security) as driver, the action menu will list "get in UAZ as driver"..
