PvPscene Tweaks

Could you update the pbos that disable stock mpmissions to also include "When Diplomacy Fails" and "COOP 8 Armory" missions? We've been using it on our dedicated and those seem to be left out..

I've extensively tested all these tweaks and they sure help a lot, "fixing" the game in most cases... thanks again!

PvPscene Tweaks: SimpleFirstAid (Gameplay) (beta)

Playing ArmA in SP can be a very frustrating experience. PMC has introduced

the Simple First Aid module. The neat thing about it in MP is that both players

cannot die and revive each other (unless both are KO).

This tweak transfers the idea to SP. It automatically activates for the player

and all units in his squad a heavily tweaked version of the module.

Description

  • When hit, you or your AI fall unconscious.
  • Each unit of the player group can provide first aid to each other.
  • This triggers only the short five seconds healing animation.
  • The unit get conscious again and regains some health back.
  • For proper healing you need a medic unit or medical facilities.
  • All the units of the group can never loose their legs (no forced crawl).
  • While unconscious, the unit cannot be killed.
  • The player can drag and carry unconscious AI (AI cannot do it yet).
  • However AI automatically tries to provide first AI to the player or other AI.
  • As group leader, you can easily command AI units to provide first AID
    with the target cursor or order them to in the command menu.

Gameplay summary

In SP the player group can patch each other up as long as working together as a team.

Technically summary

  • Automatically active in SP.
  • Automatically active for the player group and all units of it.
  • Disables the (ArmA II) First Aid module in SP when built into a mission.
  • For MP the game is unchanged.
  • Requires CBA.

Notes

  • One could make the mission auto end when all units in the player
    group are unconscious.
  • No behavior defined while in vehicles. Probably you die normally.
  • Not yet active in MP. Could be done to auto init in MP for COOP missions only.
    Addon would be required by all players.
  • For now the main aim is to make playing SP/campaigns less frustrating.
  • Credits and much thanks to Gaia for designing the original Simple First Aid module!

I especially like the new map, lovely piece of work. The DisabledStartEngineOnTurretMovementForTanks is a favourite for MP too. I won't list the others that I use, would use too much bandwidth!

There's one that I would like but don't see in the list, though.

When I set a personal waypoint (on the map, left shift + left mouse button) I get an indicator on the screen showing me the direction and distance of the waypoint. But it's a pale green colour and sometimes gets lost in the rest of the green. Could it be changed to a different colour? Perhaps black?

Being able to modify it would be one better I think (serverside/mission/something slightly more clever than current). I have not looked.. But certainly not something I really want to see as a veteran player all the time. Just saying.

Logs any kill event on the server to rpt. Sample output:

Cool - useful addition there. If a hacker uses setDamage to kill another player, will it show up on this log?

Unfortunately scripted damage shows the target unit as source - this is something BI would have to address.

We found some other issues and Freeborne notified me about some more with dayZ.

So there might be an update soon, if it is possible to address those.

The same thing happens if a player is run down by a vehicle. The handledamage EH, which I assume is what you're using, records the target unit as the source if it gets a collision trauma.

This is only MPKilled. HandleDamage would require a (more) complex system, "lots" of network traffic and (almost) no benefits (due to the reason you say).

Any update to this? I checked through all the logs and it was always reporting "Player A killed by Player A". It never reported when anyone was shot (in DayZ) by another player.

The log just shows the killer's gear twice, instead of the gear for Aussie Borat, Paynie, and Delta-2. The PBO comments say the log file should look like this:

Update for PvPscene Tweaks: Log Kills (Server)

Changes:

---

  • No longer duplicates logging data when killed is killer
  • Mentions if killer/killed is AI
  • Clarifies death without killer (SelfKiller,FallToDeath,Scripting)
  • (Hopefully) Logs correct player names and deathType for dayZ

It'd be possible to log the equipment of nearby players but what is the point to do it?

Dunno if its really helpful to log nearby _player_ units at all - at just 100m.

At 1000/2000m one might always catch any potential killer (for infantry only).

Thoughts?

hi

Im using HiddenActionsAvailableViaKeyShortcuts together with ACE. Problem is ACE doesnt allow getting out of vehicles by keypress. Is there a way to fix that?

Adjust the addon by removing the related code. Unpack, remove, repack. :)
