BAF coop mission pack

Recommended Posts

Thanks for your comments, there is another similar scenario WIP on Chernarus, but that will take some time to be finished up.

---

Version 2.8 adds four new coops to bring the total of included missions in the pack to a nice round sixty. In addition to these new files all existing missions were updated, primarily to ensure that missions are greened up in the SP overview.

New files:

co06_baf_free_agent.Takistan.pbo

co06_baf_poppy_head.Zargabad.pbo

co08_baf_capture_attention.Zargabad.pbo

co08_baf_grab_bag.Takistan.pbo

Free Agent has a British patrol liberate a captured informer from the clutches of insurgents.

Poppy Head features a raid by counter drug police to seize a shipment of heroin and arrest a druglord.

Capture Attention has a British infantry section responding to an enemy ambush in which a peacekeeper was seized.

Grab Bag features a raid by airmobile infantry to locate IED components and bring these back to base for investigation.

Metal Bashing - First task cannot be completed because the two PK nest objects are opfor and the completion trigger is set to opfor - not present. There is no ordnance available to blow the nests up and using precious AT on them which disables them still doesn't do the trick.

Section Mark, Fish Tank and Residential Section don't green up in SP after completion.

Thank you for the feedback, there were typo's in all three for the key. Updates will be included in the next version of the pack.

Metal Bashing

As soon as the gunner of such a weapon position is killed, it is no longer considered OPFOR. There is no need to actually destroy such a MG bunker with either a missile or a satchel. Flanking them and shooting the occupant in the back will do. There is a 75% chance of a well hidden stationary KSVK sniper on the west side that is easy to miss unless you actually step on him (which will occasion being shot). That is usually the last remaining enemy when clearing the hillside position.

Sander

Thats one well hidden sniper, killing him did the trick :)

However can you use 'allowfleeing 0' on key targets in the future? When the T-72s attacked, one got disabled and the other two immediately fled and I couldn't find them for some time until I stumbled across them going in circles around Vybor airport. I couldn't complete Kishlak Kinetics from Takistan pack once because the BRDM2 couldn't be found anywhere to complete the task. Cheers.

Withdrawal Symptoms - extraction helicopter doesn't arrive as of 1.62. I played the mission on 1.60 before and it worked fine, but now it never arrives.

Squad Thrust also doesn't green up.

Version 2.9 contains four new missions to bring the total of included coops in the pack to 64.

New files:

co06_baf_code_of_misconduct.Takistan.pbo

co08_baf_farangay_fracas.Takistan.pbo

co08_baf_nightwalkers.Takistan.pbo

co08_baf_returning_officer.Takistan.pbo

Code of Misconduct has a British patrol seize communications gear and an enemy cryptographer before extraction.

Farangay Fracas features an assault by light infantry to clear two objectives with the aid of friendly forces.

Nightwalkers features a night raid with the aim to destroy equipment and recover a radio backpack.

Returning Officer has a quick reaction force secure an ambush site before escorting the survivor back to base.

Thank you Sander! We just accidentally find your missionpack and we tried only two missions (the desert stalin organ and the takistan free captured villagers) and both was enjoyable. We are looking for the other ones (we'll just try the 06 missions, because we are three) and we hope the other ones will be as good as the first two. Thanks and keep up the good work!

Thanks for your kind words, Bardosy, you are welcome. Ever since playing Perpetua several times over your work has been the source of a lot of fun for me so I am happy to return the favour.

sander, we found some problem with your mission: Takistan and Laurels

We start the mission and try to do the task as you ordered, so first find the caches. We locate all three and when we blow up the last one, mission completed and immediately end.

Then we restart and choose the 2nd and 3rd objective: transport the two backpacks. Both objective was done. Then we locate and destroyed the caches and when we blow up the 3rd, mission ends again and the last objective was undone.

Somehow the last cache trigger the mission end.

Was this under the default conditions or with other unsupported custom content active? It has worked flawlessly in over a dozen times when played as it supposed to be, that is while running default Combined Arms and BAF DLC with no other addons of any kind.

Yes, no other addons, played it twice and it just seems to crash near the starting position.

Thanks for the feedback.

---

Replayed BAF - Y bother (co06) in both MP and SP mode and no problems with the helicopter crashing encountered. A situation like you describe has never been encountered in over a dozen play throughs of the mission.

The Wildcat helicopter is hovering at 60 meters and its fuel is continuously replenished. Both the aircraft itself and the pilot are invulnerable so any ground fire should not be a problem.

Are there any mods running at all that delay initialisation? Various AI improvement mods and CBA have a tendency to wreck initialisations as they claim inordinate computer resources at mission start and these are not supported.

Sander

My friend and I are working our way through all these missions and enjoying them immensely (also the Takistan & RCIR packs).

Just one little edit I'm going to make: Switching from "GROUP" respawn to "SIDE" respawn (to allow team-switching).

Last game, my friend and I got killed in quick succession and when we respawned, an AI was group leader! Things went badly for us after that...

Completed Y Bother on the third try, no Wildcat crashes. Again, no addons whatsoever, just A2:CO with all DLCs.

One difference was that on the first two tries I dropped the UAV backpack after picking it up and picked it up again or had AI carry it, is that somehow important?

Then it was probably a fluke. It should not matter at all whether the backpacks are carried by players or not. Once the distance between the ammo crate underneath and the backpack exceeds a value the variable is set and once both variables have been set to 1 the helicopter will proceed from its hover towards the extraction zone. The chopper will not run out of fuel as a patrol loop of an AI on the map will ensure its automagically topped up every time it passes a waypoint.

The Wildcat helicopter has a strange tendency to occasionally go berserk on certain parts of terrain when flown by AI, but that has not (yet) been observed on Takistan. In the Withdrawal Symptoms mission it can happen once in a while that the helicopter pilot starts to make a roll and may crash into the trees (this can cause destruction of a helicopter even when it is set to allowDamage false) when it is flying from the Guba inlet towards the LZ. A backup trigger should kick off in such circumstances to end the mission regardless, but this is to cover a rare eventuality linked to a particular spot. It does not seem to affect the flight path of the Wildcat when flying through the valley from Gospandi to Mulladost.

Sander

Does anyone have this mission pack still and can reupload it for me/the community? All the old links are dead and all I can find is the original 3 missions on armedassault.info

Thank you!

Which one, I have tried the link on the first page and the last one sanders posted and neither works.

Cancel that, it is just windows 11 being stupid. You have to right click and save link as for it to work.
