ACE 1.6 (Advanced Combat Enviroment) for OA/CO

never mind i found it in my ACE2 folder, but all that is in it is usercongig and server config and settings, no the four files that one would normally get??

@maturin; You really would do yourself and perhaps others a big favour with spending a few bucks to get a heavily improved game as well as heavily improved ACE Mod.

However it's up to you obviously; getting down and jiggy with pbo tools and editors are the first steps to the ultimate arma experience, as you will be able to tweak whatever you want however you want and enjoy the game the way you want it... That's a fine choice too of course.

An even better one together with OA, and ACE 1.6, if you ask me :D

That's because it's a new and magical way of handling the userconfig, as detailed in the link earlier.

lol i thought i had to download it again, im new to pc gaming:P thanks btw.

I have the latest clipi tool now and i put those three files into my user config but that means i wont be able to change my keybindings...

Also wha do you guys reccommend i do to fix the grenade throw issue?

0. Read the documentation link we sent; see the settings changeable ingame?

1. Make sure you have the new userconfig files

2. Run ACE Clippi

3. Run the game, start a mission, hit escape, select ACE Settings.

4. Change the keys and any other ACE settings in-game. Clippi will save them for you.

Live happily ever after.

nope, all the grenade.pbo and there bikey file counterparts are there??? I dont know what's going on, has anyone else had this issue before and been able to fix it? And I am using six updater so i would assume installed correctly, considering i have gone back again and again and looked for updates. Would moving the @ACE folder out of my arma2 directory then reinstalling ACE2 be a good place to start?

Grenade throw modes arent in my ace 2 settings list, thats the first thing i did because i thought that my h key was broken or something:P

Are you talking about the old Shift-H grenade throw modes from ACE for Arma 2? Those were dropped in favor of the OA nade system. However, they may be coming back.

LOL!!! if someone old me that they had been dropped!!! LOL ok what is so good about the arrowhead nade system though? i bought combined ops so i havvent played arma2 standalone but they feel to behave in the same way as the old arma2 nades that i saw on youtube... Also do you have any idea when the old shift H nades will be reintroduced by any chnace, they look awesome:)

OA: the longer you hold the farther you throw.

A2: you had to adjust your aim to get it to go farther.

Regarding reintroduction, see the ticket I linked to. Vote up if you want it back.

I seem to have fixed the key binding thing, but some things still don't work. Right now I am trying to get the chem lights to work, but when I equip them and press F to cycle weapons, they don't come up. Thats what I got from reading http://freeace.wikkii.com/wiki/Features_of_ACE2#Chem_Lights

Is that right? And if so what is wrong?

If you didn't notice I am new to all this as well haha.

Also I set the option for brass to stay, but it still disappears once it hits the ground :(

Perhaps you need shift+f? http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/Quick_Weapon_Selection (Shift 3 switches directly to throwables)

Unselectable weapons usually means you're running Mods that overwrite these things; if you use other mods please disable them and retry.

If no more issues, re-enable mods 1-by-1.

Make sure to check the Interaction features (self interaction and interaction with objects): http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/Interaction

Ok Read CAREFULLY and digest before ANSWER:

Im having big problems getting in the Documentation

page "Feature" on devheaven..

Page starts to load i get a messege in the lower R of my screan

saying "conecting to server" and the all freeze...

There are several questions i have about things

like, tripods, crates and cargo systems...

But i cant find my answers as i cant get to the page..

What browser? Have you updated to the latest version of it? Got any plugins installed?

Do you have the same problem if you try another browser? (Chrome, Firefox, IE?)

Works fine for me in Firefox3/4, IE8/9 and Chrome 7/8/9.

Do other pages work, which ones do work?

alot of feautures require you to use the self interaction menu.... try activating chem lights from there. I havent tried them yet so if im wrong im sorry but yeh, try the ace menus...

Ok lots of info..But for us NOOBS

that havent handled the equipment IRL

have no ide of such things as:

What ammo does a MORTAR use

Which truck, crate holds that ammo

How do i rearm the MortarLauncher

Hmmmm, ok ive found most of it now..

Having some difficulties making AI´s

use the mortar system...

I can make AIF2 and AIF3 carry

one item each..

I can have AIF2 deplo tripod.

But then it halts..

AIF3 cant MOUNT weapon.

Or can he???

I haven't used any equipment in reallife either. Learn by doing, trying, exploration, research.. etc. (Exciting! if you ask me :D)

Ammo boxes are under vehicles, vehicleclass: ACE_Ammunition.

Mmm...Ive found all the equipment and Ammo

but as i said, i cant make AI´s use it..

They can carry, can deploy trip but cant

mount weapon..And even if one have the ness

ammo and sits "In Back" he cant arm the weapon..

And IF i have a mortar squad lets say 4 mortars

8 AI´s, i cant get them to fire Simult at the same

target, cause the only way NOW is to access the

arty computer by sitting as GUNNER..

I just noticed, if i place tripod and weapon on the same AI..

As in Weapon ON BACK and tripod in hands, one of them

dissapears...

Please re-read my post, as I've asked if you've placed the AI CSW Module.

Actually firing CSW mortars by AI is probably not supported atm though, probably needs a new arty module.

You can use the statically placed mortars and the BIS mortar system for that purpose for the time being.

Yes, i have placed the CSW module...

Ive managed to get them to deploy weapon at WHOLE...

The one Ai "In Back" have 8 shells, CORRECT ammo..

But theres no way to have him rearm...
