rscarrab 10 Posted November 6, 2010 Hi all. :) Im expecting a new rig to arrive soon and of course the first task ill be throwing at it (apart from installing Win7) is a fresh install of Arma2 (owned DVD), OA (owned DVD) and BAF (bought from Sprocket). My main concern here is how will i be transferring/installing the BAF addon content onto my new PC? Also, must i patch Arma2 to the latest patch, then install OA? Or will i install Arma2 then OA and just patch OA to the latest version? Thanks in advance, cant wait to try out Arma2 on the new rig (Finally! An i7!!). polecat.uk 11 Posted November 6, 2010 Did you save the email you got from sprocket, with the key code and links to the download page? As for the patch, i think you just need the 1.54 patch.
rscarrab 10 Posted November 6, 2010 Ye i just checked my email, i still have the one with the download link and the code... i hope it still works in a weeks time. Nice one for the heads up, though i think i might just apply the 1.07 patch to Arma2 and the 1.54 to OA. I would have thought that 1.54 applies to OA and 1.07 applies to Arma2. If im wrong then happy days. Thanks again. :)
RAIDER32 0 Posted November 6, 2010 (edited) I had no issues when I re-intalled Win 7 with the same DVD/BAF installation as you. DVD: Arma 2 DVD: Arrowhead (this patches to 1.06) Patch: 1.07 Sprocket: BAF (I saved the exe previously, it asked for email and code) Patch: A2OA 1.54 Beta Patch: optional I recommend installing BAF before the 1.54 patch so it doesn't waste time installing BAF Lite first or create any issues overwriting it with the full BAF. Keep your BAF code on a piece of paper in your Arrowhead DVD case and save the BAF exe. Edited November 6, 2010 by RAIDER32 spelling
Infam0us 10 Posted November 6, 2010 I've reinstalled Win7 a few times, had no trouble activating BAF and installing ArmA 2, Arrowhead and so forth. As long as you have your original codes you'll be fine :)
rscarrab 10 Posted November 6, 2010 Cheers RAIDER32 & Infam0us. :) Its a relief to know that i wont be having any issues. Btw, nice sig Infam0us; provided me with a giggle. :D

TheHarvesteR 11 Posted November 8, 2010 I just bought BAF through Steam, I'm hoping it'll be easy enough to install it into my OA:CO Steam setup.. (that wasn't straightforward at all... I had to create a symbolic link)
mrcash2009 0 Posted November 9, 2010 ARMA 2 OA [1.50-1.52-1.54 Patch]Does OA patches require install steps like this, isn't 1.54 an all-in patch in one install ?
mosh 0 Posted November 9, 2010 Does OA patches require install steps like this, isn't 1.54 an all-in patch in one install ? You are correct, it is an all-in-one patch for 1.54.
mrcash2009 0 Posted November 9, 2010 (edited) ARMA 2[install the A2 1.07 Patch] then ARMA 2 OA (as combined) then [install the OA 1.54 Patch] then BAF DLC Did a cheeky edit :) Edited November 9, 2010 by mrcash2009
TechnoTerrorist303 10 Posted November 10, 2010 I recommend installing BAF before the 1.54 patch so it doesn't waste time installing BAF Lite first or create any issues overwriting it with the full BAF. This is a really good idea if you want to screw up your installation and have to do it all again. You MUST install 1.54 before putting BAF on or you'll get issues. Tested on mostly humanoid forms, You do not have to, but its recomended just to be sure.
rscarrab 10 Posted November 10, 2010 Tested on mostly humanoid forms Thats okay, as long as it wasnt a poor, defenseless animal. :D
Uglyboy 10 Posted November 10, 2010 Install: Step by stepFirst ARMA 2 then ARMA 2 [1.00 - 1.07 Patch] then ARMA 2 OA then ARMA 2 OA [1.50-1.52-1.54 Patch] then BAF DLC Coz I just bought ARMA 2 from spocket and reinstalled everything from my previous OA Standalone installation Is Combined Operation different? I'm going to buy it from Sprocket as soon as i get the new PC, is it a all in one installation or?
rscarrab 10 Posted November 10, 2010 When i installed Arma2: Operation Arrowhead over the original Arma2 (i had the discs for both) they had essentially turned into Arma2: Combined Operations. Fortunately you can run either of them seperately (i can run Arma2 or OA standalone if i want). I believe there was a shortcut placed on my desktop after i installed OA which was for Combined Ops, so i just used that one as i assumed it was both of them combined. Not sure if a Combined Ops was released to buy (rather than having to buy both games seperately), but if it was then i wouldnt have a clue tbh.
avengerzx 10 Posted November 11, 2010 Does OA patches require install steps like this, isn't 1.54 an all-in patch in one install ? No, no, no, no That is the official name on ARMA 2 Website for the patch or ARMA2OA_154Patch http://www.arma2.com/index.php?Itemid=20&option=com_rokdownloads&view=folder〈=en ARMA 2 OA Patch 1.50-1.52 - 1.54 means it can be either updated from 1.50 [default installation] or from 1.52 [Patch #1]
mrcash2009 0 Posted November 11, 2010 No, no, no, no Easy tiger :butbut: Well the question was based on installing from boxed DVD, that's why I pointed it out, for the ease of the thread poster, but I dont whole heartedly disagree with you .... so yes, yes, yes!
