Is there any way to reduce ambient noise in Arma2?

I was wondering if there is some way (perhaps a mod) that will decrease the volume of the ambient noise in the game?

I find that the sound of ambient wind is very loud, relative to gunfire. It's also very damned annoying. I know it falls under the category of "sound effects" in the audio section of settings, but there is no way to select it specifically and reduce it.

Lastly, are there any mods for the sound effects in general?

Have to agree on that, the wind ambiance sounds are far to loud (when it's not windy). But no, other than using a sound mod that tends to do far more than reducing the levels, I can't think of any ways of fixing it.

I'd be happy with a mod that got rid of that annoying loud chirping bird who sits in the cockpit with you..

Serves you well for not checking who got in the cockpit with you. Always look around before closing the canopy :D

Seriously though, that seems to be a problem with the engine, and how sound occlusions doesn't affect those specific types of sounds.
