Arma 2 stuttering and freezing problems please help

Every second im getting lag it doesn't stop. Its worst when i zoom in to fire. Ive tried to play the game with everything on low and it still lags. Ive read almost everything that people say that will fix the problem and nothing works. Please help.

At the risk of providing yet another useless suggestion, have you tried the video memory settings? I had severe stuttering and lag until I changed the settings from 'default' to 'high'.

I had mine on normal and I recently changed it to default because that's what people said to do on the forums. I just tested it and it didn't work.

Freezing and crashes can be related to overheating, get yourself a cpu temp monitor,

and a gpu temp monitor and see what your numbers are.

With your specs you shouldn't be having problems with the game.

Open your case up too and see if you have any dust in there, dust is a good insulator for heat.

Not something you want to let go, if your cpu is to hot you could burn it out, if your GPU is to hot you will either have freezes,

stuttering, or even crashes, crashes will tell you that you better shut your computer off,

freezes tell you that your almost close to crashing and its getting hot.

This is my guess. You can get temp monitors as freeware almost anywhere, just google temp monitors,

for cpu and GPU and some stuff should come up.

Its not an heat issue. I have a cpu fan not stock and i also have a temp that tells me the heat of everything. My case has 2 fans on the from one on the top and one on the side and back. Its cool in my room and everything stays at a good temp.

This is retarded. It's not the heat people, this game is buggy. Crysis heats up my gfx card to about 85C, arma ~75-80. But Arma2 is the one that freezes. This is the GAME FAULT NOT THE HARDWARE! If you go through the posts here you'll see that there are the same problems over and over again. This app has some serious threading problems in my opinion.

Why do some people run the game fine that have weaker or greater systems than mine? I know a lot of people have problems and some people fix their problems i just want to do the same and place the game without a problem.

Also what version A2/OA .exe are you using?

Still want to know your NVDA CP settings and your in-game settings.

Also if your only on one 9800, A Resolution of 1920 x 1080 can be too much with any settings in-game set above normal and will still lag with zooming...

Sorry for that, I just got a little frustrated because none of the fixes mentioned here on the forum helped me. I made an issue #13496 but the devs can't help either as it seems. It looks like Arma2 is haunted by a rather hard to reproduce bug and a one that is carried over and over from one patch to another and now OA. Don't get Me wrong, I love Arma2 but it enrages Me when I can only look at the dvd case and not play the game because of a FREEZE bug.
