For instance, create a profile caculating the whole flyimg time and then generate the engine failing propertion being effective when player or AI flying choppers next time. Maybe we will just feel surprised when our chopper crash down because of mechanical problem.
HyperU2 11 Posted October 9, 2010 From what I've seen online the skill of pilots, AI and Human, makes for plenty of them going down without being fired upon.
Gunnarmarine 10 Posted October 9, 2010 FUN fact for all of you. The U.S. military is trained to use the TOW weapon system to shoot down helicopters. Also the Tow's thermal sight sees shades of red, not black and white. The Javelin you see in shades of green.

HyperU2 11 Posted October 9, 2010 333? Give me a break! I was referring to the US losses only. I'd say it's impossible to estimate Russian losses, when a US helo goes in we tend to know who was on board.
T.S.C.Plage 0 Posted October 9, 2010 333 may sound much if you look at it as a whole but if you split that up to 10 years of war it gives you 33 a year. That's not that much if you consider the circumstances. The coalition forces in Afghanistan lost more then 15 helicopters so far this year and they've much more sofisticated stuff flying around then the Russians had during their intervention. Not to mention that the AA(A) threat is currently much lower then it was during the time of the Russian Afghanistan war.
HyperU2 11 Posted October 9, 2010 Considering we lost about 6000 helos in Nam I wouldn't say 333 sounds high for ten years. :)
