ofp needs some good WW2 islands, with the atmosphere that it gives

yes, I have always dreamed to have a "COD2 map" in OFP. I try currently to create also rubble (with 3d models and ground textures).

btw, the house in the pictures is already modified. the things around the windows were too big + the walls near the chimneys are thinner now.

I'm going to use this model for creating other destroyed houses. :)

I created a new building: a shop. the front of the shop can be removed and the shop becomes a town building: magical :p

lazy solutions for a lazy guy :D

I'm going to update also my old farms; they use too much textures.

btw: for those who follow my scifi project, don't worry, I continue to work on the addons. :)

Maybe ... trenches?? Ofp never had true trenches. :) With sandbags,barrels and all that magical stuff ;)

trenches are not easy to make. because AI doesn't use them correctly even with a perfect roadway lod. :(

I found on an cd, some old models done 2 years ago for ww2ec:

the objects:

- a big barn (2 models)

- a set of walls

- a dove cote

and this whellbarrow: I reworked it, now this model has only 1 texture.

btw, i promised at Bielow to give to him, my stuff. but as a lot of buildings and objects need a lot of work, I prefer to finish all the buildings and the objects (Because Fuzzmaster and Bielow have already a lot of things to do or finish).

Looks quite convincing.Maybe you could darken it up where the

bags meet.It might give them some more definition.

I'm assuming they're seams running down the sides?If so,I know how

much of a headache it is to match up the opposing sides of a seam.

Especially with something flexible or organic.

I do as much as possible with a texture beforehand,then bring it in to

Blender to tidy up the seams.As it allows the modeller to paint directly

onto the mesh.

yes, this is a pain in the ass, but finally this is this kind of difficulty which makes the texturing interesting :p

I do as much as possible with a texture beforehand,then bring it in to

Blender to tidy up the seams.As it allows the modeller to paint directly

onto the mesh.

i'm not at all familiar with Blender:(

The texture paint mode in Blender isn't perfect.But it's just good enough for seams.

Otherwise there's a lot of guesswork and going from image editor to 3d app.Lots of trial and error.

Tattoo has a non commercial license.

It's basically a mesh painting app.A simpler version of high end tools,like

deeppaint or bodypaint.Although it adds another stage to your workflow.

The only plugins I'm aware of for Max,that allows painting onto the mesh,is the polyboost set.

But it costs around 150 US dollars.

I know all that seems like a lot of effort for OFP.But I also know it's not the

only engine you make content for. :)

thx i'm going to try it. it will be maybe a good addition to photoshop;)

a good uvmapping avoids this, most of the time. :)

someone knows how I could contact Linker Split, he seems not active in these forums.

I want to use some of his ww2 objects, but as I want to remove a lot of stuff from the pbo and optimize some objects, I need his agreement. :)

yes, I work also on a map 512x512,. I use Jojimbo's vegetation. + I created some hedgerows. this is a fictive France map :)

yep, the Dante's garage will be reworked, the old building will become a barn, because the new one will be bigger :p

I'm going also to release T-Roc's US-Brit tanks, and as I gave me the agreement to modify them, I'm going to modify a little bit the textures (mud, scratches ...), and later I'm going to release also his Panzer pack.

Yeah working on other peoples stuff can be really annoying. What kind of difficulties did you meet?

there is a ton of textures. And 1 texture can be used for different parts of the model. there is not mapping, the model is textured with the basic system of oxygen (crappy stuff)

and oxygen is a crappy program :p

btw; this is the hedgerows, their size corresponds to the size of a cell

AHm, there was a game that had a lot of Normandy maps, maybe you can get the demo or something like that. The name is Close Combat V: Normandy (awesome game indeed)

So, you are planning to do a new map for OFP?

I have reworked also a cottage (pics soon), + a wood barrel. I'm going to use the wood barrel for making fighting pos and also a more funny thing :p

I rework currently:

- a ruin; that i made a long time ago. (less faces, less textures).

- a dovecote; i change the textures

- a big barn; the model was crappy.

- and the famous dante's garage :p
