skyman 10 Posted September 16, 2010 Hi, i have installed these mods on my ARMA2-OA COMBINED OPS, but probably are too much stuff for the game, wish ones do you recommend me to keep and wish to delete? @zcommon_ace;@JTD;@WarFX_Particles_Beta_1.41;@GL4;@VopSound2.3;@ACEX;@ACE;@BAF;@CBA;@SLX I appreciate it
Gunter Severloh 4062 Posted September 16, 2010 @JTD;@WarFX_Particles_Beta_1.41;@GL4; @VopSound2.3;@ACEX;@ACE;@BAF;@CBA; keep those, Ace already does alot of things, and you cannot get rid of CBA as alot of mods require it. but probably are too much stuff for the game Its never to much stuff, theres guys out there with 2+gigs worth of mods and addons they play with, I had that and more for OFP when that was the only game to play, its really what you got time for, and what you really want to play with. What does your startup line look like?
Fox '09 14 Posted September 16, 2010 delete warfx until new one is out ,i other than that it's fine in my opinion. gl4 + slx can cause some issues although that was in the past
Gunter Severloh 4062 Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) delete warfx? then he wont have warfx if he likes it, I might as well delete mine too then, cuz a new one will be out soon. Unless it will be out tomorrow I can see deleting it could be a week or a month. Til it does come out keep what you got or til then, you got nothing. Key thing is if you like certain features in your game then keep them, you alone should really know what you like or dislike, its rather simple really, if you dont like a feature a mod has you either find a way to disable it or you chuck the mod. Your game is a custom game as soon as you start adding addons and mods. Edited September 16, 2010 by Gnter Severloh
skyman 10 Posted September 16, 2010 Well thank you guys i will keep them then, i have noticed that some times some missions crash and i have to restart my PC because all freeze and sometimes just freeze for some seconds, could that be GL4+SLX? or the newly installed VopSound 2.3? Gunter Severloh 4062 Posted September 16, 2010 Possibly but freezes can be many other things. I highly doubt its the mods, for example, a mod I built for Arma and the one I have coming for Arma 2 has many mods big and small and I never experienced any crashes, or freezes with the numbers of addons and mods together in a non mod format. So I can only assume that freezes can be either your cpu trying to catch up with whats going on in the mission, or your cpu/Gpu is overheating, or another issue. What are your computer specs? In a way this isn't the topic to be discussing about troubleshooting or the like as it is offtopic. If you are having freezes then I can tell you that your best bet would be to refer to this thread: Game crashing to desktop or freezeing or BSOD http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=76670 also do a search for what others have found. Yeah probably CPU or Video card overheating, i will upgrade it. How is going to be you new mod for Arma2? Thanks.
Gunter Severloh 4062 Posted September 17, 2010 Yeah probably CPU or Video card overheating If its overheating, you dont need to upgrade, you need to find if they are actually overheating and to do so, do a couple things: -Open your case up, and look for dust, be sure to destatic yourself before doing so. Check the heat sink over the CPU as it will have the most dust, and other areas, dust acts as an insulator in the computer, and whatever heat your already producing the dust will hold it in as well has increase the heat potential in the case overall. -Add a fan to your case if possible -Get a cpu, and a GPU temp monitors, you can find them anywhere, just google them, and make sure they are compatible with your OS and Systems How is going to be you new mod for Arma2? Its coming along, I can explain but I think my website would give you more details:http://warmod.webs.com/ its updated almost everyday.
