CarlGustaffa 3 Posted September 12, 2010 yes but it's still an army So is this and this. Much of the equipment is already in the game, allowing some mix and match. So no, doesn't look all that unrealistic to me for a low tech (even lower than the two mentioned ones) enemy.
Banderas 0 Posted September 12, 2010 Concretely what kind of better guns do you think of? Or you want them with aimpoints, acogs, holosights and IR lasers? As Fox stated, the Takistani Army is intended to represent the idea of a generic hostile Middle-Eastern/Central-Asian force that is not much technologically advanced, based and mixed on the pre-invasion Iraqi Army and the Afghan armed formations. But they even have FAL with AN/PVS-4 and an AK-74 with a thermal sight (Goshawk). If you want them to have christmas-tree like M4s or SCARs, you go to the editor and write the necessary commands in the initialize line, or better, you write a little config that gives them the weapons you like by default. hellfire257 3 Posted September 12, 2010 The FAL is still and always will be an excellent rifle. It is the only near "Squaddy proof" rifle there is.
-ACES- T.J. Hooker 10 Posted September 17, 2010 I myself find the Taki weapons to be of no real concern in terms of the quality, they suffice for their purpose. Not only do you get the relatively modern M16A2, you also get the option of using the FN FAL battlerifle. The Lee-Enfield, once mastered, is a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. It's not always the weapon, but rather the soldier that make a difference at the end of the day. Taki weapons DO need zeroing options though besides the AK, as well as some Western weapons. dreday 1 Posted September 18, 2010 I am not sure that I support the notion of better guns, per say. However, I would like to see them deploy the single caliber weapons (except for MGs and Sniper Rifles) at the squad level. You generally don't see the proper armies mix FALs and M-16s at squad level because of the logistical nightmare that it introduces and also because it makes it very difficult to exchange ammo in the heat of battle... tounsi1988 10 Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) Yeah,i think takistanis needs: -the car bombs like in iraq and afghanistan, -IEDs like iraq and afghanistan and chechenya, -suiciders like in afghanistan and chechenya, -better snipers like "juba" in iraq, -death squads (like the special forces of the usa army) like the ones of hamas and of taliban -mortars and katyucha rockets like in iraq and in palestine and in afghanistan Edited September 19, 2010 by tounsi1988

Like it´s clearly said above an Army will take an modular caliber system and not a lot of different stuff. The rebels will take what they get, maybe they got newer west-weapons for well done job´s?They will take weapons from the enemy where they could. Well in iraq, most of the resistance and mujahedeen are ex-soldiers in Saddam's regime... And even in ex-Iraq army, there was groups called "saddam fidayi" wich were all suiciders and equiped with rpg's,ak47... And the car bombs were used in the 2003 gulf war by the iraqi army against the US troops which were going to invade baghdad+ there were many arab volunteers which came from every where to iraq and were fighting side by side with the iraqi army(wearing civilian clothes) against US soldiers... And after the regime of Saddam has fallen, those arabs have created the group called Alqaida in Iraq,or to be precise "The Islamic State of Iraq"... and about the newest weapons, many of taliban are now using M4A1 and M249(you can check that in youtube and in aljazeera videos)...
