arma2oa.exe Forces Hard Restart

I bought the ArmA 2: Combined Operations pack from GamersGate, which forces you to download the two games separately. Now, the problem is, when trying to launch arma2oa.exe, a shortcut for it, or selecting "Combined Operations" or "Operation Arrowhead" through an exterior launcher, it freezes my entire computer, forcing me to do a hard restart. I have checked the registry, and it all checks out; I have also tried putting them both in the same directory and launching, no change And, last but not least, I have tried the guide for combining the two posted here. This did not work either. Anything that requires using Operation Arrowhead makes it freeze.

Now I am starting to wonder if GamersGate has some screwed up version of ArmA 2: OA, as nobody else seems to be reporting this problem, perhaps the team at BI has heard of this?

I played too many hours of ArmA I, and I have played through a large portion of ArmA II already, I need my fix of OA
