Unit Placement Troubles

Hey guys, for the life of me, I can't figure this one out so I'm coming here for help.

When I plop units such as helicopter or armor on a map, they end up in completely different spots than I intended them to be. For example, I plopped a helicopter on the runway and when I previewed the map, the helicopter was stuck in the control tower about 100m away. What am I doing wrong?

You need to zoom all the way in with your mouse wheel and even then it's not pin-point accurate.

Dark-Stealth: make sure that the formation (aka special) is set to none for each aircraft. Or ungroup them from other units. Otherwise they will be placed in formation, and aircraft formations are much more radical than with troops.

DARK-STEALTH, hi... you can also look at using the built-in 3d editor. Sorry, I do not use it and cannot remember the command.

EDIT: In the main menu, use Alt+E to enter the 3d editor.
