The Lost Brothers Mod Official Release thread for ArmA2/OA

Recommended Posts

Guest

3) This mod require both Arma II and Operation Arrowhead, even though at armaholic just shows arma II as requirement. They got it wrong.

Please be so kind to recheck Armaholic :)

The news + downloadpage are both added in the OA section. This on it self indicates the release is for OA.

The fact Arma 2 is listed as a requirement makes it clear this is a CO release.

The fact people assume any different has nothing to do with how we have our site structure set up but more to do with the mess which is created anywhere else (impossible to know which release is OA, A2, CO since the lack of sections and the info given by some authors).

Thank you :)

Hi,

the T72 is green colored from far away. The T55 and T62 don't have the problem. So you can spot the T72 immediately.

It's since Lobo Iraq.

Thats strange, cause the T-72 is just a BI re-texture. Maybe that problem isn't "correctable"....

thanks anyway!

Jesus.... I cant believe I am actually reading this...

Well, "dude", suit yourself. We didn't asked you to play with our mod, so whatever.

Honestly, I just said above that me and Miles have tons of compromises and if you wont play cause you need to click one time "continue".....too bad dude....

Thank you all for the kind comments. Regarding the 1st Marine Div, WOW....I made a BIG mistake on that. I can't believe I never noticed that Marines didn't have their unit patches on their combat uniforms. I know it's on their dress uniforms and I had incorrectly assumed it was on their field uniforms just like the Army. Wow...that's just so wierd that I never noticed that. Ok...well... whenever we do an update, I will do my best to fix that error. However I should say, that minus any major critical bugs, it may be awhile before there is an update on this pack as I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to get our mod focused back on the core of our mod which are IDF-Arab conflict addons.

At any rate, hopefully what we have in this pack is enough for some great Gulf War Desert Storm missions to be made and I hope you guys enjoy the unique addons in this pack.

Also the issue that Vilas brought up and is being worked out with Vilas privately and is best not discussed publicly on the forums. As our credits point out, Vilas and his mod team have been a VERY important partner with LoBo and without his help our mod would be dead as we are 75% dependent on his models for our infantrymen and many vehicles.

So thank you again Vilas for your support and that of all the other guys on your team.

Well, you are welcome to help us figure it out. We tried and eventually just moved on as it was a minor error. When we do our updates at some point in time, we may try to fix it but don't expect a fix anytime soon. If anyone else knows what might be causing that error, please feel free to chime in.

Until then I hope that you will reconsider and I apologize for the inconvenience.

if i needed to click it only once it would not be a problem but i need to click it a dozen time, almost every time i do something in the editor i need to click continue again (selecting a other unit or placing a vehilce etc. ) don't get me wrong i like this mod but its realy annoying with this error so if we could figure out this problem then we could perhaps figure out a hot fix ? and then you can help me make you guys happy again by using this mod :P

perhaps it has somethng to do with the vila_wwp?? as you give it alongside your mod but villa's made a newer version ?

ps. no need to apologize for the inconvenience. and yes i will probably reconsider (i still have them installed just not currently active :P )

Yeah, that is strange. When I said it was known, I refeered to the fact that when you start one mission on the editor, you need to click once, and then its all good.

If you have a newer version of vilas weapon pack, I would consider deleting the one that is included on our pack.

And just for the record, as stated in the CREDIT FILE, that weapon pack is Vila´s, credits are to him, and so we didnt change anithing at all, including the addon name.

Cheers!

Vilas's weapons are fine. The problem started long before we used his weapons pack and has, I believe, something to do with one of the aircraft addons. We will try to narrow down the problem. It's just that our time is extremely limited due to real life family, school, and work obligations. But eventually these things will be fixed and yes if we identify the problem we'll probably just issue a hotfix if that is the only major bug found.

Hey lads will there be any Weapon Classes Readme added to the mod?

Like those you find in other mods like example AK-74 - VIL_AK74 ( mag: 30Rnd_545x39_AK ): so we can easier equip the men if we build missions and stuff?

BTW: If anyone knows how I can make the AI assemble Podnos 2B14 Specialist, DSHKM Specialist, AGS30 Specialist with assistant's I would be truly grateful.

And I want to take time and wholeheartedly acknowledge everyone that has contributed to this mod. You guys are great! :pet13:

Yo buddy! Yeah we need to release a full classname file. Will do that!

To make the AI assemble, do this:

1) select the assistant (any assistant, all them have the tripods), tell him to go where you want the weapon deployed, click F6, drop tripod

2) select the specialist you want, click F6 and assamble weapon (AGS30, podnos or big bad ass machinegun =P)

Yeah we had some issues with the version carrying bombs (only our cruise-missile carrying version was working) so that kinda fell to the side. Hopefully however we'll get it fully working if not for the Iraqi guys then for the Syrians.

@Andrei,

If you check the arma2oa.RPT file, you may found lots of bin\config.bin/CfgVehicles/Library.xxx' error message, there must be some wrong define in some vehicle config.bin files, if these could be tweaked, would be better.

The sad fact of the matter is that we have no clue what are causing those errors...I've checked the configs of all the vehicles and tried to make the configs as best I know how. Sooo.... unless we get some more addon makers other then just me and Andrei (or someone volunteers to look at the our vehicles and give us advice on how to fix those things) then those errors are going to probably stay as long as they do not cause any problems in-game.

If you agree, I can spend some time on checking them. From today we(chinese) are gonna celebrate our Lunar new year, so I've got a week holiday.

Thanks for the offer and Happy New Year. :)

Well configs I can compile and send but I can't send out any MLOD's without approval from some of the original addon makers. :(

But really there are ALOT of other errors then just the ones in the .rpt. The log files are full of errors for many of the addons after binarizing them with BinPBO. Really what we need is a new mod team member who has more experience and who can full time help us clean up our addons. Only in OFP did we have a highly knowledgable addon maker (Calm Terror), but he got tired of OFP/ArmA and quit to play other games. So...what you see now is just an amateur attempt to get stuff working with some help from other mods and addon makers. It is by pure luck and just trying to copy other configs that I manage to get ANYTHING to work. The scripting and things like that are beyond my understanding except to make small modifications and to copy and paste stuff in (hopefully) the right places.

@Nikiforos

Thanks, if you are an asian, same to you.

@Miles Teg.

I've just spent 1 hour on checking your addon files. The series of "no entry...." problem was solved.

All was caused by a careless wrong subordinate class in the config file of "lobo_us1991_m60a2.pbo".

At the bottom line of CfgVehicles, there is a Library which is supposed to subordinate "LoBo_US1991_M728", but you put it directly under CfgVehicles.

Thank you so much for taking the time to examine all those configs. I think I see what you are talking about down at the end.... I didn't realize it had to be in a certain section. I think I fixed it and I'm testing that now.

Thanks again and Happy New Year! Here in the U.S. even alot of us non-Asians celebrate the Chinese New Year. I will be helping out in my city's Asian Festival this weekend and will be having tons of fun. :)

Vilman, buddy, thats an issue when you load ACE2 and our mod.

You see, the ACE2 M1A1 tank is a retexture, just like ours, so all the textures are there at the same time!

If you load up only our MOD, you will see that the M1A1 is perfect, and with tracks!
