Obama supports plan for mosque near ground zero

Recommended Posts

I heard this on the news channel and I couldn't believe, so I went google crazy on this and what I've found was brutally true.

A slap in the face to those who died and their families too. Disgrace and shame, it like a fresh wound sprinkled with salt. No wonder with Saudi petro-$ everything is possible even a mosque in the middle of what was left of WTC.

Next thing he should to to approve plans for a mega-mosque in front of the White House. Long live political correctness :yay:

Country of religious freedom, fantastic - Indians are prohibited to use holy peyote cacti in their religious ceremonies because it violates the law. Instead they were given alcohol.

Enjoy:

If I'm not mistaken the war is about fighting terror, not those that would like to worship their religion. Also, you're pretty much exaggerating the location, as the BBC article says "near ground zero", not "in the middle of what's left of the WTC".

Your attitude is exactly like the fanatical Muslims that we constantly read about in the news. You know the ones I mean, the ones who freak out about cartoons and having churches built in their countries.

Also, there's no mention of who is building it, so saying Saudi petrol dollars is also unfounded. Maybe you should gather all the facts before running around like a chicken with its head cut off.

Country of religious freedom, fantastic - Indians are prohibited to use holy peyote cacti in their religious ceremonies because it violates the law. Instead they were given alcohol.

So, because one religion is oppressed another one should be too? Shall I point out the flaw in your logic, or do you see it now? Campaign against the ban on peyote, not against the building of a mosque.

Sorry to go off on you like that...but your views are a little bit too...I can't find the appropriate word, so I'm going to use 'ridonculous'.

@Sudayev. You fail. How many muslims working in the WTC died when the planes hit?

They want to build a Mosque, not a combined Al-Qaeda recruiting facility and flight training school.

Have to agree with Abs on this one. The destruction of the WTC by terrorists is a very sensitive issue for many people, not the least of which myself, and I can't see a reason not to build a religious center near ground zero.

It's a big fuck you to terrorists that think they can alter our way of life or instill a xenophobia of Islamic people who are just trying to get by like the rest of us.

It should have been better not to do it. One must be too "intellectually elegant" to allow this. For the common of people, this decision lacks common sense, hence the news front paged in most media around the world. The people in the streets, see this mosque thing as shocking, illogical, and contradictory, no matter what your reasoning might tell you. From that point of view, it's a terrible decision from the Obama administration. They should have not denied it publicly neither, they should have talked to this guys and say something like please no.

I somehow don't think that building a Christian church in... Waco, for example, would provoke the same response.

There is a giant USA politics thread which the threadstarter could have used for his anti-american propaganda crap.
